Beth, a concert violinist, returns to her hometown for the holidays after her mother's passing and finds joy again. She tutors a young violinist, Katie, and her father Sean Grant, a country star, clashes with her over music approaches. As they spend the holidays together, Beth inspires Sean to write music again and he motivates her to try out for the local orchestra. Beth eventually gets the spot and must decide whether to move back home for good.
