In 1973, Chilean military forces stage a coup, and a young couple, Lena and Daniel, become embroiled in the chaos. When Daniel is taken by Pinochet's secret police, Lena sets out to find him, tracing his disappearance to Colonia Dignidad, a seemingly charitable mission in the south of the country. However, this "charitable mission" is actually a cult, known as the Colonia, where no one has ever escaped. Determined to rescue her loved one, Lena decides to join the cult, unaware of the horrors that await her.
