Conflict of Wings background

Conflict of Wings

A small town in Norfolk rallies to protect their beloved haven, the Island of Children, a bird sanctuary, from being transformed into a rocket testing site by a nearby RAF station.

The film is a battle between a local population and the powers that be, reminiscent of "Passport to Pimlico". The RAF plans to use a small Norfolk Broads island as a firing range, but the locals protest and discover an ancient act granting the land to the church. The residents occupy the island to deter the exercise, but accidentally damage the telephone link, causing a close call when the aircraft approach.
