In a world where a plague has wiped out all sexually mature women, Tripod, a dermatological clinic director, searches for his mentor Antoine Rouge, who has gone missing. His journey takes him through various organizations and encounters with men trying to adapt to a defeminized society. Along the way, he meets individuals with unusual physical transformations, including one who grows new organs that are then removed. Eventually, Tripod discovers a group of pedophiles holding a 5-year-old girl, who urge him to mate with her, leading him to sense the presence of Rouge.
