In the 1960s, a former convict, Lester Benson, is now the manager of a popular British rock band, the Small Faces. However, he's struggling to resist his criminal past and seeks the help of a skilled safe-cracker, Major Fairclough, to smuggle diamonds into the Netherlands. The plan seems foolproof, but an unexpected witness, Mrs. Edgecomb, a bus conductress with limited mental abilities, saw Major Fairclough and could potentially expose their crime.
