In the Arizona Territory of the 1870s, a notorious outlaw, the Sidewinder, a ghostly leader of rogue Ute Indians, strikes fear into the hearts of the local population. Tex McCloud, a rancher, sets out to avenge the destruction of his property and promises to be the first to reveal the Sidewinder's true identity, challenging Lt. Tom Blaine, a Cavalry troop leader, to a wager on the outcome.
