Lake, a young man with an old soul, develops an unusual fascination with elderly men, seeing their age as a beautiful thing. When his mother takes a job at an old folks home, Lake gets a summer job as an orderly and discovers that the residents are being given psychotropic drugs to keep them catatonic. He befriends Mr. Peabody, who still has a spark in him, and they form a strong bond.
