A 60-year-old offshore oil rig technician, Pierre, has become a recluse after the death of his wife and abandonment of his pianist lover, Florence. His only companion is an alley cat. Following a mysterious accident, Pierre is confined to a hospital bed, where he begins to re-evaluate his life and eventually finds a path to redemption.
