In 1980s Guatemala, amidst the devastating Civil War, 9-year-old Andrés struggles to cope with his traumatic past. He lives with Pedro González, one of the men responsible for the brutal massacre of his village's women and children. Despite his fears, Andrés finds a sense of belonging with Pedro and his wife María, who has taken him in as her own son. However, his life is turned upside down when his long-lost sister reappears, forcing Andrés to confront his complicated emotions and make a difficult choice.
