A 16-year-old girl named Apple, who has grown up on the streets, runs away from her abusive mother and tracks down her father, a Wall Street broker, to ask for help. However, she soon learns she's pregnant and is forced to leave her father's home. After a close call, Apple finds refuge at a shelter for pregnant teenagers, where she forms bonds with other girls and begins to build a new family for herself.
