Girl O' My Dreams background

Girl O' My Dreams

A college athlete's pride is shaken when he's unexpectedly replaced as the campus favorite.

Star athlete Larry Haynes is a popular hurdler at Rawley College, but his ego is a major turnoff for his girlfriend Gwen and teammates. In an attempt to deflate his ego, Larry's friend Bobby Barnes asks the school newspaper editor to rig the popularity contest against Larry. Meanwhile, Gwen starts to pursue Larry's rival, Don Cooper, who surprisingly wins the contest. As the media attention and Gwen's affections boost Don's confidence, his game suffers. The two men engage in a rivalry, with Larry asking Mary, Don's girlfriend, to the big dance. The dance ends with both Gwen and Mary getting engaged to their respective partners. The big meet arrives, and both Don and Larry lose their first events, but win their second events. The final outcome hinges on the performance of Bobby Barnes, who wins the high jump event after Larry promises to help him tell his twin girlfriends apart.
