A wealthy Scottish greeting-card company owner, B.G. Bruno, is a kind but stuffy bachelor who falls for an American actress visiting Edinburgh to produce a musical. He initially pretends to be a newspaper reporter, leading to a series of comedic misunderstandings and mishaps. As he gets to know the actress, Bruno becomes more carefree and charming, surprising his employees and ultimately finding true love and success.
