Two enemies from warring nations, a downed American pilot and a stranded Japanese naval captain, find themselves on a deserted Pacific island after their planes crash. Initially, they engage in a cat-and-mouse game, with the Japanese captain creating useful items only to guard them from the American pilot, who then steals or destroys them. Despite multiple opportunities to eliminate each other, they fail to follow through. Eventually, they put aside their differences and work together to build and sail a raft.
