One hundred years later, Stanley Yelnats IV is sent to Camp Green Lake, a dry desert lake bed, accused of stealing a baseball player's cleats. At the camp, inmates dig one hole a day under the watchful eye of the enigmatic Warden, who seems to be searching for something.
