Emily Brown, a kleptomaniac and pill addict, struggles to overcome her compulsions in therapy sessions. With a history of shoplifting and a mother who's a compulsive shopper, Emily's struggles with addiction and impulse control are deeply ingrained. Meanwhile, Nick, a security guard at Bernstein's Department Store, becomes fixated on Emily after spotting her on the security cameras. When Nick gets in trouble with ecstasy, he pressures Emily to help him rob the store.
