A girl rock band, the Stains, consisting of sisters Corinne and Tracy Burns and their cousin Jessica McNeil, achieve success despite questionable talent, thanks to media attention on Corinne's personal life. They join a US national tour as a support band, opening for an aging metal band and a rising British punk band. The Stains' bold statements and Corinne's transformation into a punk rock icon, dubbed "the skunk look," propel them to stardom.
