Addicted gang biker Sam Childers is released from prison and turns his life around after a transformative experience. He leaves his old life behind, finds a new job, and becomes a devoted Christian. Inspired by a preacher from Africa, Sam travels to Northern Uganda and South Sudan, where he builds an orphanage and fights against the Lord's Resistance Army, earning the nickname The Machine Gun Preacher.
