Mary Magdalene

A divorced couple, Amos and Mary Magdalene, go their separate ways, with Mary finding solace in a new romance with Roman prefect Silvano, who provides her with a fresh start.

Mary Magdalene's marriage to Amos ends in divorce when she fails to produce an heir. She leaves Magdala and befriends Roman prefect Silvano, who promises her a new life. However, she soon meets John the Baptist and becomes interested in his teachings about the coming Messiah. When Silvano discovers John's true nature, he casts Mary out, and she turns to prostitution. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she meets Herodias, who invites her to her court due to her knowledge of healing arts. Mary becomes embroiled in the war for Galilee, watches her hometown Magdala burn, and tries to save the life of her friend Joanna's son Samuel, who ultimately dies. After meeting Jesus, who brings Samuel back to life, Mary recognizes him as the Messiah and becomes one of his disciples.
