A mischievous hen moves into Pluto's doghouse and lays her eggs. When they hatch, the chicks assume Pluto is their mother and refuse to let go. Chaos ensues as Pluto tries to escape, but the chicks chase after a grasshopper and eventually overrun him again. Pluto helps the chicks dig up a worm, but his efforts are met with resistance from the hen and rooster. In the end, Pluto settles in, unaware the chicks are hiding in the straw around him, until they emerge and he's overjoyed.
