A mysterious man, Ed, arrives in a small town, possibly in Maryland or the Carolinas, seeking a better life. He finds work as a caretaker for a mobile-home park and attracts the attention of three women: Lola, a beautiful woman struggling with addiction, her young daughter Janet, and an elderly wealthy recluse.
