In this movie, American engineer Steve Corey arrives in Mexico to work at a mining project owned by Katherine Beckman and her half-brother Paul. Katherine is portrayed as a free-spirited woman who is easy to fall for, and Steve finds himself smitten with her. However, their budding romance is threatened when Paul brings back one of Katherine's past lovers, Gus Cole, to try and tempt her away from Steve. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Katherine and Paul have a complicated past, with Paul revealing their dark history to Steve.
