In Japan, a daycare teacher named Kyoko Okudera is convinced by her friend Madoka to skip studying and visit her boyfriend Naoto at his restaurant job. However, when the restaurant owner receives a mysterious phone message predicting his death, it comes true. As more people receive similar ominous calls, a journalist named Takako begins investigating the phenomenon. Kyoko discovers a ghostly presence in her phone, and soon Madoka is found dead.
