As Labor Day weekend begins, Daniel Corban, a Starfish automobile executive, grows increasingly frantic as his new wife Elizabeth goes missing. Despite his pleas, Inspector Murray Levine of the Skuylkill police is reluctant to investigate, citing Daniel's own admission that Elizabeth left voluntarily after an argument. Daniel's frustration intensifies when a woman claiming to be Elizabeth returns, but he's unable to convince anyone, including Levine, that she's an imposter. As the imposter, who may or may not be Elizabeth, continues to taunt Daniel, he's left wondering if she's trying to kill him, drive him mad, or if there's a larger sinister plan at play.
