Jim Kane, a good-natured but not-so-bright cowboy, faces financial struggles in Nogales, Arizona. His bank loans are at risk due to a failed horse purchase, and his horses are quarantined with an STD. He takes up residence in a hotel maid's room, courtesy of a sympathetic clerk, and his ex-wife shows leniency on his alimony payments. Despite his uncle's job offer, Jim accepts a shady deal to buy cattle in Mexico for a notorious businessman. He teams up with his old friend Leonard, who's pursuing a get-rich-quick scheme, and they face numerous challenges while trying to purchase cattle from local ranchers, ultimately leading to trouble.
