Orchestra manager Steve Hollis discovers a new kind of music called rock'n'roll while stopping at a motel in Strawberry Springs. He sees a local band, Bill Haley and His Comets, and a new dance style led by Lisa and Jimmy Johns. Recognizing the potential, Steve convinces the band and dancers to let him organize their nationwide breakthrough. He books gigs with top agent Corinne Talbot, who tries to stop the group's success but ultimately fails as they become a big hit across the country.

A duo's spontaneous road trip detour leads them to the charming town of Strawberry Springs, where they settle into a motel on a Saturday evening, unaware of the unexpected adventure awaiting them.
