In the village of Ovsyannikovo, the Red Army finally defeats the enemy after months of intense fighting, but at a devastating cost - only a third of the original personnel remain. The exhausted soldiers are awaiting reinforcements, but instead receive an order to hold the village at all costs, a decision that amounts to a death sentence.
