In the Caliph's palace, a lowly stableboy named Sabu is accused of stealing a diamond from the Caliph's favorite elephant. Sabu searches for the diamond and finds an old ring instead, which he gives to his girlfriend Zumeela. The ring turns out to be magical, summoning a giant genie named Ubal who grants Sabu's wishes. However, Sabu's supervisor Kemal and the prime minister Muzafar are plotting to kill the Caliph and take the throne. Sabu and Zumeela must evade Muzafar's attempts to capture the ring and stop the assassination plot, all while navigating a series of magical and comedic events. In the end, Sabu and Zumeela succeed in saving the Caliph and restoring order to the palace, and Sabu returns the ring to Ubal, who blesses him and returns him to his humble life as a stableboy.
