In a struggling economy, Lucia battles to preserve her family's home from repossession, as a colorful cast of characters emerges, including Mr. Carlos, a proprietor of a second-hand shop, Sergio, a juggling waiter and clown, and his partner Victoria.

In a struggling economy, Lucia's family faces eviction from their mortgaged home. However, their lives take a devastating turn when Lucia's youngest child, Julieta, a newly graduated lawyer, disappears after leaving for work at the Palace of Justice, which is later attacked by guerrillas. The tragic event leaves a lasting impact on the family and their community, based on real events in Colombia in 1985.
