In a Greenwich Village gay bar, patrons find a sense of freedom to be themselves, away from the straight facade of their daily lives. The bar's cook, Sadie, describes the community as a chosen family, but not everyone is welcome. Lita, a self-proclaimed "fag hag," seeks to prove her attraction to men by sabotaging the relationship between Scott, a pilot, and Terry, a graphic artist. Meanwhile, Jim, a gay-for-pay hustler, is traveling with his sugar daddy, Marvin, and must confront the reality that the night will eventually end and they will return to the outside world.
