Something to Shout About

A struggling Broadway producer finds an unexpected savior in a wealthy patron who offers to fund his next production, but only if she gets to take center stage, despite lacking any talent in singing, acting, or dancing.

Broadway producer Willard Samson is struggling after three flops, but is given a chance to revive his career by wealthy divorcée Donna Davis, who finances a show on the condition that she is the star. Despite Donna's lack of singing, acting, and dancing skills, Samson is desperate and agrees. Meanwhile, he meets Jeanie Maxwell, a talented singer and songwriter from Altoona, Pennsylvania, who is trying to make it big in New York. Samson is more interested in Jeanie's stage abilities than her songs, but struggles to get rid of Donna. The show's potential is marred by Donna's poor performance, and Samson's attempts to salvage the situation only lead to disaster.
