A ruthless land baron, Stanton, schemes to take over a ranch owned by Tom Storm and his brother Billy, knowing that it holds a valuable gold deposit. With the help of his henchmen, he manipulates the situation to his advantage, filing a lawsuit against Tom and cheating Billy in a poker game. As the deadline to pay off the mortgage approaches, Stanton's gang robs the bank, and Tom is accused of murdering one of the robbers. The gang continues to harass Tom's cattle herd, and the ranch is eventually put up for auction. However, the banker, aware of the stolen money, outsmarts Stanton and has him charged with robbery and murder. Meanwhile, Tom's sweetheart's father also has a stake in the property's gold, and various side plots unfold as the story reaches its climax.
