He reminisces about meeting a beautiful singer named Selina Rogers at a soldiers' ball, where he vowed to return to her once he achieves success. As Bill and Selina's careers flourish, they cross paths briefly, but Selina is hesitant to settle down. Will she eventually change her mind?
