A 13-year-old girl, Lola, has had to mature quickly living with her troubled father at a rough motel, the Sunnyside. She longs to find her missing mother, but her life takes a devastating turn when she discovers she's pregnant. Just as things can't get any worse, a young wanderer checks in, offering Lola a chance to finally break free from her miserable life at the motel.
