Two young peasants, Mytyl and Tyltyl, embark on a magical journey under the guidance of a fairy named Berylune to discover the mystical Blue Bird of Happiness. Along the way, they encounter the souls of various seemingly inanimate objects, including a Dog and a Cat, Fire, Water, Bread, and Light, which they can now converse with.
