A compilation of three Charlie Chaplin silent comedies, "A Dog's Life", "Shoulder Arms", and "The Pilgrim", is presented in a single feature-length film. The movie features Chaplin's own music, narration, and additional connecting scenes. The World War I-themed "Shoulder Arms" is recontextualized to take place before the invention of the atom bomb.
