Three little girls are brutally murdered in a wood by a pedophile, with each body found naked and bearing a single precise cut on the throat. The case is investigated by Detective Viktor Marek, who becomes increasingly dissatisfied with the investigation's outcome, particularly after his superior arrests a scapegoat. Marek resigns from his job but continues to track the killer, following a lead that takes him to an old road where he meets a young girl named Anna. As he becomes obsessed with catching the pedophile, Marek rents an old gas station and invites Anna's mother, Milena, to cook for him, intending to use Anna as bait.
