A champion Eskimo sled dog named Kavik, who survives a plane crash in Alaska, forms an unlikely bond with a young boy named Andy Evans. After being rescued by Andy, Kavik is taken away by his original owner, George Hunter, who returns him to his home in Colorado. Kavik eventually escapes and embarks on an incredible 2,000-mile journey to find Andy.
