A lone investigator is tasked with solving a murder and robbery case involving gold shipments. He tracks down a gang member by examining bullet casings and uses the man's horse to infiltrate the gang. As he gathers information, he discovers that the gang is being tipped off by a mine employee using carrier pigeons. However, his cover is blown when the next message reveals his true identity, and he is taken prisoner by the gang.
