In a world of strict Christianity, Robert Eastwood is taught to be vigilant for evil lurking outside. When he attends school, he's surprised to find others don't share his beliefs about the world's creation or Jesus' return. Caught between his mother's missionary work and his friend Marcus' rebellious influence, Robert becomes torn between his faith and his desire for freedom. After discovering a dead body in the woods, he's convinced God has sent him a sign, leading him down a path of spiritual turmoil.
