A businessman, disfigured in a lab explosion, receives a life-like mask from a psychiatrist and uses it to seduce his wife. His wife claims she knew all along it was him and they were just playing roles. The mask seems to influence his personality, but his new identity doesn't bring him acceptance. A subplot follows a young woman with a disfigured face, who seeks solace in a secret plan.
