A young poet's quest for artistic fulfillment is tested by the challenges of love and self-discovery.

Poet Leo Breavman, 28, draws inspiration from his childhood and past relationships to fuel his creative work, but his sense of identity is in turmoil. He ends his passionate affair with Tamara to find solace in New York, where he meets Shell, a graphic designer, in a coffee shop. The two share a spark, and Shell soon leaves her husband for a passionate romance with Leo.
