During the Sioux Wars, General Frederick McCabe's 3rd U.S. Cavalry Regiment recruits and trains men for an upcoming campaign against the Sioux. Captain Demas Harrod, in charge of D troop, is also in love with Lou Woodard, who is engaged to Sol Rogers, chief of scouts under General McCabe. As tensions rise, the two rivals engage in conflicts that often end in fistfights.
