Polaire Gwynn and Schatze Citroux, former roommates and co-stars, are reunited when Jean Lawrence, a gold-digging friend, returns from France. Jean asks the girls to introduce her to a new man, and they meet Dey Emery, a playboy, and his friend Boris Feldman, a pianist. Boris bets Jean that his piano playing will make her fall in love with him, and she pretends to sleep through his concert. Polaire plays piano and impresses Boris, who offers to be her teacher and lover. Meanwhile, Jean seduces Boris, and Polaire gets hurt in an accident. Later, Polaire reconciles with Dey, and they get engaged. However, Jean appears at their apartment, causing trouble.
