A retired National Guard Lt. Colonel, Moody Anderson, purchased a dying town in Texas in 1972, transforming it into a living museum over 37 years. He filled the original buildings with Texas memorabilia, used by the movie industry, including Lonesome Dove and True Grit. In 2010, the town and its artifacts were auctioned off to the highest bidder.
