Charles Wills returns to Paris, nostalgic for the life he left behind after the city's liberation. He reunites with Marion and Helen Ellswirth, whom he met while working for "Stars and Stripes". He married and settled in Paris after his discharge, but his writing career begins to take a toll on his relationships with his wife and daughter.
