A fiery gypsy woman, Carmen, uses her charms to seduce a young soldier, leading him down a path of destruction. After being expelled from the army, he turns to a life of banditry, ultimately killing Carmen's husband and others. In the end, the soldier is consumed by guilt and meets a tragic demise.
