Two teenagers, Jimmy and Rose, pass the time at a small Irish seaside resort by observing and inventing elaborate stories about the people they see. Their attention is soon drawn to Renee, a blonde woman who captures Jimmy's imagination, and he becomes infatuated with her, even going so far as to follow her home.
