In the summer of 1941, a group of Ukrainian youth are excited about their upcoming vacation to Kiev, unaware of the war that is about to engulf their lives. As German forces invade the Soviet Union, including their village, the group must navigate their way back home, facing numerous challenges and moral dilemmas along the way.
