In the lawless Oklahoma Territory, a rancher named Mark Bonham is brutally killed for his strict adherence to the law. His twin brother, Minister Matt Bonham, arrives to comfort Mark's widow and son, Toby, who is consumed by a desire for revenge. However, Toby is swayed by the corrupt rancher Bick Justin, who offers him a job and gradually distances him from his community and family. When Justin and his gang threaten to burn down the local church, Toby must confront his own morals and loyalties.
