In the town of Tucca Flats, a peaceful life is disrupted by a gang of bandits. The sheriff leaves town, naming Bill as his successor, but Bill is unable to use a gun and the outlaws take over. With the help of some Indians, a suit of armor, and springs on his shoes, Bill manages to run the gang out of town. The story follows Bill's journey as he is killed, sent to heaven, and sent back to Earth multiple times, all while trying to defeat the outlaws and rescue his love, Margie. Along the way, he discovers that one of the outlaws is the Devil and must face him in a final showdown.
